Booming

The burner assembly is the part of the system that ignites the flow of natural gas to produce heat. Carbon particles collect on the assembly over time, eventually clogging it and causing it to fire later than it should. Grinding
Grinding sounds coming from your furnace are likely due to the air handler. Air handler motors contain lubricated bearings, designed to make the system run more smoothly. As the bearings wear down, the friction on the motor increases and generates that sound. If the bearings are not replaced, the air handler will eventually overheat and burn out.
Short Cycling
Short cycling is when the furnace turns on and off every few minutes. It’s a serious issue caused by the furnace continually overheating, usually due to a bad air handler or clogged filter.
